Согласно Википедии, «новая романтика» – это музыкальное движение, возникшее в начале 80х в Англии и оказавшее влияние на множество современных стилей. «Новая волна» пережила множество реинкарнаций и до сих пор влияет на популярную музыку.

Развиваясь в лондонских ночных клубах, новое движение включало таких артистов как Visage, Adam and the Ants, Ultravox, Duran Duran и Spandau Ballet. Многоуважаемый Брайан Ино также значится одним из родоначальников движения.

Ну, закончим наш экскурс в истории и перейдем к сборнику. Итак, перед нами трехдисковое собрание песен исполнителей, которые повлияли на The Editors, Interpol и The Killers. Уже с обложки нас манят имена Duran Duran, Kraftwerk и Culture Club. Лишнего на диске тоже предостаточно, и иногда не покидает ощущение, что перед нами простой сборник музыки 80х. Например группы калибра Alphaville и Propaganda все-таки не входят в классическую волну «нового романтизма».
